Pisces New Moon– 2025

Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle? 

When we draft a chart for the new moon, we get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days.  

Okay what is this cycle about?   The last eleven months have been long.  The year is ending, it is time to unplug and seek to replenish your soul and your psyche.   

Pisces New Moon

Welcome to the new moon in Pisces.    For the next 29 days we will be getting our Pisces on in a way that we have not done for many years.   Oh, boy is that the truth.  Prepare to unplug.  

As we have discussed for 13 years Neptune is in Pisces.   It seems forever.   At the same time, we have had Saturn in Pisces for the last two years.   Then in January the North Node moved into Pisces which has not been there for 18 years.    Of course, on the new moon chart we have the Sun and Moon together and Mercury is also in Pisces.   This is a lot of Pisces.  

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac.  It is the final water sign and it speaks to the deepest part of the oceans where life exists even if we can’t see it.  Pisces knows things even if it does not understand why, it knows things.    When we are traveling through the 29-day Pisces lunar month we benefit by unplugging from the grind of reality and dogma.  We shift our consciousness and are not limited to what our five senses tell us.  We seem to have experiences or feelings that are beyond touch, hear, sight, smell and taste.   

Pisces is associated with the arts and where musicians, painters, dancers take form.  The feelings through art are expressed and they can move the world.  Seeking art to unplug could be very beneficial during this lunar month.   Pisces also understands matters of humanity, faith, spirituality and metaphysics that is not necessarily defined by religion or dogma.  Pisces unplugs so that the unconscious and dreams can speak to us.  You can’t have desires or goals until first your dreams start talking to you.   This is the power of Pisces.  

The chart of the new moon is gifted that the Sun and Moon are not overwhelmed by a lot of afflicted aspects.   There is one square with the Moon and on 2/27 and then the Sun to Jupiter on March 2.  Big judgements and loud rhetoric may rub our psyches raw.   Jupiter in gossipy Gemini just feels like too much noise for Pisces who want to commune with anything but a super opinion.  Pisces understands things that Jupiter cannot know, any conflicts may need us to get quiet, retreat, maybe get lost in Netflix and then when we are replenished, we can address any Jupiter big opinion coming our way.  

Neptune is the ruling planet for Pisces. Since Feb 6 and Neptune’s conjunction with the North node, the world is all tuning into a radio tower amplifying the importance of Pisces.    The nodes are the anchors to eclipses.  We have now wrapped up the Aries solar eclipses and will be heading to Pisces eclipses next year.   In the meantime, there will be a partial eclipse in a month that reminds everyone, ‘hey put down your armor and prepare to find your heart.’  Consider what has come up for you since Feb 6 that speaks to gentleness?   Where are you looking at a human, no matter how complicated as f that person is, and you can see something that you relate?   The ripple effect from the conjunction is strong enough to be an influence for this whole lunar month.  For 29 days we may find our tender and meet other people’s tender.  We may see confusion and understand to cut through it we must go to another ‘place’ outside of concrete reality to get answers.   We might have psychic hits.  We are beginning a two-year cycle where we have to admit that when we walk into a room or meet a person we just know something right away.  Tapping that skill is an all-month affair.  

The New Moon lands in an interesting week. Between Feb 23 – March 1 – all the planets are in direct motion.  That’s it for the year, just this week and in that one week, we have this new moon.   The only new moon for 2025 that will have forward movement of all planets.  The chart speaks to the whole 29-day lunar month, and even though Venus stations retrograde a few days after the new moon, the chart is still there beeping.  There is some clarity and purpose in our swirling Pisces journey even after Venus retrogrades and Mercury stations retrograde (two weeks later.) In any confusion of Venus and Mercury retrograde there will still be a thread of something making sense.

Arguably, the Venus retrograde is the signature retrograde of 2025.    Every couple of years, Venus retrogrades but it is not always in Aries.   Two years ago, on the day Venus retrograded in Leo Barbie & Oppenheimer were released and Barbenheimer took the world by storm.   No one can accuse Venus in Leo of being shy.    Now the retrograde takes place in Aries, another bold sign.    

Venus is how we find fun and play.   Venus speaks to what we value.   Venus connects to money, beauty, art, creativity and love, which are all about values.    You value that piece of art and are willing to pay a large sum of money for it.  While someone else looks at it and not only does not want to buy it but perhaps scoffs and questions if it is art.   Venus is in the eye of the beholder.   Even though, Venus is not comfortable in Aries she will try her best to make the most of Aries themes.   Aries is all about independence and the willingness to fight for what it sees as important.   Aries is a warrior, fiery and head strong.   Falling in love with warriors or fight energy will be highlighted during the Aries portion of the Venus retrograde.   

After March 27 Venus re-enters Pisces and returns to finding the humans in humanity.   Spiritual pursuits are meaningful.  Finding the tenderness that connects all of us is valuable. A lot of the stuff that has come up for us since January 28 when Venus entered the shadow point will be revisited during the retrograde.   Was it our kindness that showed up?  Was it our charitable or our altruistic natures that got pinged?  Was it our smarty pants intuition that showed up?   Then when Venus moved into Aries on February 3, we felt the flame move us.  Our values spoke with more anger and energy. Some people may have been surprised by their own fierceness.    The mixture of value finding that is both gentle and forceful is the hallmark of this Venus retrograde.   Look at your calendar, note anything that came up since January 28 that struck you in your heart.  Know that this Venusian mix between kindness and warring will be strongest during the retrograde (March 1 – April 12) and will continue until the end of the shadow on May 15.    

During Venus retrograde she will make multiple aspect hits with other planets.   We will no doubt pick up themes with each of these planetary contacts.  Then revisit the them, perhaps pick another beat and then hit it again when Pluto stations direct.  Note the aspects and the dates of hits listed above.  

If you want to get a feel for Aries Venus retrogrades in previous years, consider the spring of these years.   Note that only 2017 & 2009 had a Venus return that started in Aries and retrograded back into Pisces like we are experiencing now.

While Venus retrogrades are a regular pattern at every 2 years and Venus Retrogrades in Aries happen every 8 years, our current event may have more meaning as it is in the landscape of our huge outer planets changes.  Perhaps this retrograde is reminding us that if something is important then it is worth fighting for especially if it speaks through love.  As changes unfold, we will want to know what we love.

Two weeks after Venus stations retrograde, Mercury does the same at 9 degrees of Aries.  Like Venus it will be straddling back and forth between Aries and Pisces.    In general, during Mercury retrograde periods we benefit by a slowdown of our thinking, talking and connecting.  Unfortunately, the very nature of slowing down pisses off Aries.   Delays will be very frustrating.   Some issues that come up may demand swift thinking and conversations that are sharp.    If the talks cut to the bone and have long term consequences that might be okay.   In our current climate of Venus talking to us as well through Aries and finding our hearts and now Mercury retrograded in Aries, there just may be a need for fierceness.   

Then when Mercury re-enters Pisces on March 29, it will join Venus and now they both remember tenderness, kindness and benevolence have meaning.   We can reconnect to something again tender through our hearts and minds and then when Mercury stations direct on April 7 and re-enters Aries on April 15, we are back to our warrior brain again.   

In mundane astrology, we should anticipate big talk of war.   Big talk of independence.  Big talk of doing something new.  But if in the ‘newness’ the baby gets thrown out in the bath water there will be those who say, ‘hang on  I think we are forgetting something.’  More to be revealed.  

In short, between Venus and Mercury retrograding at the same time in Aries and Pisces, it feels like a person with a house on fire, they get out of it alive then they realize something is in there important and they run back into the flames retrieve a framed art or the beloved photo book and then run back out holding the item close to their heart and then the firefighters take over.

Mar 30:     Neptune first ingress into Aries (14-year transit)

May 24:    Saturn first ingress into Aries (2.5-year transit)

June 9:      Jupiter enters Cancer (1 year transit) 

July 7:       Uranus first ingress into Gemini (7-year transit)

August 7-9 Kite Aspect.  Uranus, Neptune and Pluto trine & sextile each other.  Great flow.  Saturn conjunct Neptune (close not exact).  Mars oppose Saturn.   

Each month I am putting up the bigger astro landscape.  The importance of these transitions into new signs of the outer planets (& Saturn) cannot be overstated. They are the backbeat to every new moon report.    The last time we had all four outer planets transit into new signs within seven months of each other was the 1730s.   As you can see at the end of the month on March 30 Neptune will finally begin unplugging from Pisces and enters Aries.   This will be a new cycle, later in the year Neptune will return to Pisces and then in 2026 it re-enters Aries for good.    This is a potent outer planet change, and it happens after this lunar month completes.  Given we have Mercury and Venus going back and forth between Aries and Pisces  it seems as if it is a primer for us on how to tap both signs.   Once Neptune goes to Aries we may miss his presence in Pisces.  All the better that we get the value of Pisces now.     

Treasure Mapping

Next month on March 29 will be the time we make our Treasure Maps.   Between now and then we do the other gift of Pisces and declutter our homes, offices, garages, cars.   We get rid of stuff that no longer works, or we get it repaired.   We send clothes to thrift shops.  We clear out the space and let the newfound space just be.   Then next month after the Aries new moon launches and we build our maps then we can think about how we replace anything.    For now, we get rid of stuff.  For added information on the power of decluttering I recommend this audible book RELEASE

In Conclusion, 

Finding our way in Pisces is important to our psyche.   The astrological year and all those eleven other signs and lunar months have concluded.   We did a lot, and we did it in the face of Pluto moving into Aquarius.  We can be forgiven if we are burnt out.   The universe understands that feeling and that is why we end the year with Pisces so we can do a big refreshing unplug.   Swim in Pisces you deserve it.

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything.  Who called you?  Even the silliest things when they come up during Crescent are noteworthy.  A parking ticket.  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  No matter how mundane it arrives, consider it as message.  How can this information help you?

Focus on: Where are you being independent?  How are you tapping fierceness?   How is your spiritual nature talking to you so that you can create your own new path?  Where do you need to bring faith and warrior together?

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received.  Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again. What hurdles have popped up involving the seeds you planted on new moon?    We make another call, or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals, we planted on new need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects.  Some independence may need to be exerted.   

Focus on:   What actions are you taking that demand a quick pivot?  How are you learning something fresh and current on the ground that now demands an important action from you?

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually, emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us. There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?  

Focus on:   How are you being practical? How are you grinding down faith so that it is pragmatic?  How are you dotting the I and crossing the T so that your life is more efficient?  Where is responsibility in your daily life?   Is your inner world craving a daily calendar that works towards your values?

Focus on:   How are you sharing with others your ability to tap power?   What have you learned about the importance and power in co-mingling resources?  How are you sharing your ability to keep a secret and release it at the most important time for best value?
