Leo NEW MOON 2019

Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle? 

When we draft a chart for the new moon we can get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days.  

Okay what is this cycle about?  Do you know it is okay to be special?  Are you still dismissing your ability to be bold ?  How’s that working for you?  Yah.  Let’s try to be different this cycle, this year.    

Sabian symbol: 

PHASE 129 (LEO 9°): GLASS BLOWERS SHAPE BEAUTIFUL VASES WITH THEIR CONTROLLED BREATHING.

KEYNOTE: The need to involve one’s most spiritual and vital energies in the creative act’ if it is to produce significant and beautiful new forms.

The breath represents the power of the spirit, animator of all living manifestations. Because the glass blower uses his breath to shape the glass vessels, he is a fitting symbol of how deeply any creative individual has to involve his total being in his creation. He is also using the fire of the spirit — transpersonal inspiration — or, in another sense, the fire of deeply felt emotions. Any creative activity which does not involve both the “breath” and the “fire” cannot transform into beautiful artworks — or indeed into any new form of order — the raw materials, remains of the past (the “sand”).

This fourth stage of the twenty-sixth sequence symbolically shows us the technique required in true and successful transforming activity. It always implies CREATIVE INTENSITY.

Leo New Moon

Be Bold.  Be Brave.  Get out of the way Leo New Moon is in the house!  

We have wrapped up emotional, tender, watery Cancer lunar month and now we are back to fire again! Leo, the second fire sign of the zodiac, is ready to warm up our heart and our courage.   We look around and try to figure out how a place, a moment, an experience benefits by us inserting our unique energy.   This is not the cycle to be a shrinking wallflower.   Nope.    This 29- day cycle we will be called upon to be brave and bold and share ourselves.   

This Leo New Moon chart squares Uranus and conjuncts Venus.    Venus brings softness to the 29 day cycle.  We are focused on love, art, creativity and beauty.   Things we value will be front and center, is it love?  Is it money?  Is it things that make us feel special?   Whatever we value gets our attention thanks to Venus.   However, Venus is in square to Uranus along with the Sun and Moon who also are squaring Uranus so our attention will also be feeling a rub.    

Since Uranus moved into Taurus in only the last year we are still getting our sea legs to this seven-year cycle.   Every time an inner planet touches Uranus by aspect we are informed a little bit more of this new Uranus journey.    For the world in general; money, possessions, properties, land use, borders, buildings, banks are up for some type of change between now and 2026.  And on this Leo New Moon chart, we have the Uranus -Venus square suggesting that for 29 days we may be feeling ‘not enough’ in many of these areas.    Things look dingy, or ‘less than’ in our world when we compare with others.   It could be something simple like our front yard or our porch just suddenly appears tired to us or maybe it is our hairstyle or our clothes, or our bank accounts.   

Or we look at someone’s relationship and it seems like they are cooking on all burners and ours is just puttering along.    These feelings of ‘could be better’ are important, not in that we need to throw everything out and start anew.  But more it is about digging in deep and acknowledging we could improve on stuff but first we have to decide what is important.    Venus in Leo has trouble separating high ego from solid self- esteem.   We will be challenged when we are rattled to go in deep and find our truth.    If jealousy shows up in this 29 day cycle, thank it for getting your attention but then ask what is really going on for you?   The focus should not be so much on “why does _____ have that and I don’t –  but more about, ‘What choices have I taken to get here?  Could I have made braver choices?  Did I punt?  Where did I miss the opportunity to access my strength and courage?   And now perhaps changes are important because they are more in sync with something new already emerging in you. Maybe now you are ready to access your strength.    Perhaps the only change you need to make are with you—maybe you have been avoiding your “A Game” for a long time and now it is time to get it on.    Use any bumps this 29 day cycle to compel a stronger, braver, more dynamic you to show up.   Note this is not a good time to go hog wild and spend a ton of money.   You cannot buy love or friendship or self esteem.   Be measured with your finances and remember the greatest power of Taurus is knowing you can accomplish a lot if you go bit by bit by bit and so on.

While the New Moon chart has Mercury retrograde suggesting thoughts and communication have a confusing element during the 29 day cycle, it is not entirely chaotic because within one hour after the launch of New Moon, Mercury stations direct.   This retrograde had us finding and processing our emotions and then finding ways to communicate the deep feelings inside us.    Now on the Leo New Moon where we celebrate our own style and uniqueness we get a boost from Mercury helping us communicate more effectively.    Our mental state has been on an emotional journey for the last three weeks.  What it has learned and how it expresses itself will begin to unfold.   Consider what came up for you since June 20?   And how have you been processing the beefs and stresses and emotions that have been in your sights since July 7?  How are you finding your strength?   And how are you realizing your deep emotions are your strength?    This Mercury retrograde has traveled from 4 degrees Leo back to 23 degrees Cancer.   On one level our identity and self esteem have felt pushed to the very brink.  Thoughts of “Who am I?”  have percolated up  and rattled us to our bones. But our emotions have answered us that we are humans finding our ways and gentleness of self and to others will help us find our balance.  We can be bold and unique and special while also acknowledging others in their own power.   And to that we say, “Thank you, Mercury retrograde. I learned a lot.”

Uranus station retrograde

We can all put a red star on August 11 because it is no simple Sunday (USA Time zone).    On the 11^thwe have two major planets change direction.   Jupiter who has been retrograde since April 10, will be stationing direct in the morning of the 11^that 14 degrees of Sagittarius.   And in the early evening Uranus will station retrograde at 6 degrees of Taurus beginning its journey back to 2 degrees of Taurus on January 10^th. 

We love Jupiter in Sag for being bold and visionary and standing up on a hill and saying, ‘Hey everyone there is something cool over there.  Let’s go check it out.”   However during the three month retrograde not everything ‘cool’ panned out.   Jupiter stationing direct suggests a more sober approach as we process our goals and visions that Sagittarius points out.    We are not cynical but we take a moment and make sure any opinion or philosophy or vision we embrace is in sync with our inner truth.      Jupiter will continue his new more measured journey in Sag until Dec 3 then he moves into conservative Capricorn.   Where in your life has the velocity accelerated since April?  How can this area still be inspired but calmer?  Where do you feel like you have moved from student to teacher?  How can you share your knowledge?  What special voice do you now own and someone needs to hear it?  Let’s get our Jupiter on in these last few months of his Sag journey.  He won’t be here again for a dozen years so now make the most of it!  

Uranus spends half the year every year in retrograde.   Globally there could be some sharp issues around banks, money, finances and more border issues.   Land use and private properties including businesses will be in the news.  Practical new innovation or the need for innovation will also be in the news.   Personally those people with planets at early Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius could feel chaos and changes from out of the blue.    There will be cage rattles for sure but what is important is how to respond to the changes.   Instead of feeling like it is ‘happening to me’ we should try our best to own the changes, ‘Okay now I’m doing this..”    Because we know mentally, it is better to drive the car than to be taken for a ride.   

Uranus will end this retrograde at 2 degrees Taurus on January 10.  Two days later will be the Saturn Pluto conjunction.   That is one of the most important aspects of the 21^stcentury.    Watch what Uranus brings up for you during these next five months it may speak to what is important for you in the new environment that Saturn/Pluto will bring in January.    

In conclusion:  

We are in a cycle of great astrological changes if not upheavals.   Your voice has an important place in your family, your circle, your neighborhood and your country.  Whether it is a mom or child or neighbor, someone benefits by you showing up with your strength.   Do not shun that which makes you special.  Own it and show up.   Use these 29 days to find your specialness and embrace it.

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything. Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking ticket?  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

Focus on: What information are you receiving that speaks to your daily habits?    What is going on with your diet?  What about your calendar?  How are these impacting your ability to be creativity?  How are they fighting or supporting the part of you that is special?   What is your health saying about your strength?

First Quarter Moon

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received. Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects. Some independence may need to be exerted. 

Focus on: What are actions are you taking suggest the power in joining resources? What actions are you taking that support the power of ending something?  How are you finding birth after death?  

Special Focus:

8/8: Venus trine Jupiter.  Money and love expand.  Joy.  Travel. Fun.

We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.  

Focus on:  Where does your career need refinement?  How can you refine your place in the world?  How can you refine your organizational abilities?

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us. There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?  

Focus on:  

Who are your peeps?  Who is your circle of friends?  How are they supporting you and your strength and creativity?  How are they reminding you that you are special and you have something wonderful to give to the group and the world?

Disseminating: Share information; find a teacher or someone who has more knowledge. Perhaps there was a big ol’ blow out on the full and one feels in need of support and help, this is the phase to reach out to one who knows more. This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.  And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information.  

Focus on:  How are you sharing your independence?  How are you sharing your vision?   How are you sharing the part of you that likes to do it alone?

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense. And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”
