Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle?

When we draft a chart for the new moon we can get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days. 

Okay what is this cycle about?  The answer is within.  Repeat. The answer is with in.   Are you hearing it?

Pisces New Moon

Welcome to Pisces New Moon where we find ourselves at the end of our long lunar astrological journey.   Our trip began at the end of March 2017 with the fiery Aires new moon and now we enter the final 29 days of the year in watery Pisces.   In Cancer cycle, the first water sign, we understood the water that moves our emotions.  In Scorpio we embrace the water that flows towards our transformation.   Now in Pisces, we connect to the water that moves us through our inner mystic.  Our guidance comes from some place transcendental or unknowable that can only be found in the quietness of our intuition.     

Pisces is two fish.  One swimming left and one swimming right.  If they don’t know where they are going they will be confused but if they follow a current then they are safe.  The key of course is for the fish to trust the current.   Ah, there is that word “trust”. 

 

For 29 days we need to be open to information that flows to us from deep inside our own current.    Is it our psychic ability?   Is it our intuition?    Is it a flash thought that comes to us in the middle of a shower?   Yes, yes and more yes.    But for many people they have difficulty trusting these insights.  They brush off some intuitive insight that could actually be helpful as just a ‘random thought’. 

 

In order to access the most of the Pisces cycle, mediating and getting quiet is critical.  Have you ever found yourself walking through a city on either on a white hot day or blustery snowy day and you enter a church or synagogue or other holy temple and as soon as you enter you feel the energy shift?    You are no longer out in the madness with the humans in the big crazy world you are now in room that rises above humanity.  In that air of a thousands prayers you find yourself transcended.    That is the energy of Pisces.    No matter how crazed we are during these 29 days we need to take a breath, clear our minds and let our intuition speak to us, who by the way is always talking to us but we now need to clear the noise so we can hear it.

 

This Pisces new moon has got the Sun and the Moon in square with Mars in Sagittarius, which makes finding quiet challenging.  Mars in Sag has so many places to go and Pisces just wants the world to slow down so it can reflect.  Mars in Sag speaks to righteousness so don’t be surprised if some inner know-it-all causes problems.   Whether it is in you or in another person.   The key is of course to take a breath and coax intuition to come up and follow the information.  Normally, a Mars square Sun/Moon would be rife with problems but this one is a little different since Pisces and Sag were both once upon a time ruled by Jupiter.   In the 19^th century when Neptune was discovered the gassy planet with nebulous clouds was given rulership of Pisces.  However, Pisces does remember his once former loud ass boss Jupiter and so he can forgive Mars in Sag even if it is too rambunctiously  “right”.    

 

 

 

And speaking of Jupiter.  Jupiter in Scorpio is in harmonious aspect to Sun and Moon in Pisces which speaks to doors opening up to any transformation.   Between now and the end of summer Jupiter in Scorpio is helping us transform and shed.  Skins that no longer serve us are being shed like a snake loses its skins.   Perhaps we know what needs to be shed but don’t know how to do it.   Perhaps we don’t know what needs to go.   Again, we let our intuition guide us and gentle shifts will begin to take place.

 

One fun little exercise to do to open us up to follow our intuition is take a day and practice finding it.  Use the old adage “man plans and god laughs”  and do the opposite, you don’t make the plans let god plan the entire day.   Let your intuition tell you, “Oh, I’m going to the market now,” which strikes you odd since it is a time you would never go to the market.   Or you call someone at some ‘random’ moment.   Whatever it is practice letting your connection to your intuition guide you.  

 

And proof once again that god does really laugh when we make plans, within a week of the new moon, on March 22, Mercury turns retrograde.  Ha!   Mercury will turn retrograde at 16/17 Aries.   In truth this should help us all slow down and if not exactly get quiet we can slow down enough to not get in trouble—if we are paying attention.  Mercury in Aries can be quick to anger and get mouthy.  There is nothing wrong with using our words to start a new path and a new way out but we don’t need to start small grass fires whenever we speak.  Luckily the retrograde will help us ‘take a moment’ and stop ramming (it is Aries of course) our thoughts down on everyone.  What is probably most noteworthy about this Mercury retrograde is that about 17 hours after it turns direct we get the Aries New Moon.   THAT is remarkable.  For those of us who do Treasure Maps on Aries New Moon consider how cuckoo it is that we will have three weeks of mental confusion or chaos and then poof it ends and we get Aries New Moon where we launch our new year and map.    Talk about the dawn after a storm.   I would consider this potentially one of the most profound Mercury retrogrades in a very long time .    Use these three weeks that could sometimes seem confusing or mentally challenging as a gift.   Perhaps we need any hurdles to clarify our goals for Aries New Moon.

 

In conclusion:  You will have many opportunities to find and listen and follow your intuition.   Use it as a current to get you where you need to go.   See you on the other side at Aries New Moon where we launch our new year!

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate, start projects.   Activate something that will ideally lead you to more.  This is the phase where INTENT is critical.  Even if the results are not immediate, the intent is there.  You may not have all the answers or road map but you should put out your Intent.

 

This focus:  How are you finding your inner compass?  How are you letting your intuition speak to you?  How are you embracing the mystical?  How are you understanding the power of prayer?  

 

 

Special focus

3/17: Mars enters Capricorn.  Actions about business are highlighted.

3/19: Mercury con Venus.   Lightness around love and money.  Thoughtfulness around values. 

3/20: Sun enters Aries.  

 

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything.  Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking ticket?  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

 

Focus on: What are you learning about being practical?  What are you learning about taking things bit by bit?  What are you learning about money and love?  What are you learning about the importance being patient?  What are you learning about the benefits and pitfalls of being stubborn?

 

Special focus:

3/22: Mercury retrograde until April 15.  Mercury goes from 16 Aries 54 to 4 Aries 46. 

3/23: Venus sq Pluto.  Creativity and values are challenged to rebirth.  Rebirth is challenged to align with values.

 

First Quarter Moon

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received.  Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects.  Some independence may need to be exerted.

 

 

Focus on:  What actions are you taking that speak to your feelings?  What actions are you taking that speak to your family?  What actions are you taking that speak to your moodiness?   

 

Special focus

3/24: Sun sq Mars.  Vitality and essence rub against abrupt actions.

We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.

How are you refining your passion?  How are you refining your drama?  How are you refining your brash and bold nature?  How are you refining your creativity?  How are you refining your need to tell truth? 

 

 

Special focus:

3/28:  Venus conj Uranus:  Annual aspect where values get a change up.  Chaos or brilliance arrive at money and love. 

3/29: Sun sq.  Saturn.  Restrictions, delays around actions and soul searching moments.   Delays are not the same as denial.

Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us.  There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?

Perhaps there was a big ol’ blow out on the full and one feels in need of support and help, this is the phase to reach out to one who knows more. This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.   And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information. 

 

 

Focus on:  How are you sharing your power?  How are you sharing your ability to transform?  How are you sharing your extreme nature?   How are you sharing your ability to be laser focused?   How are you sharing your ability to co-mingle? 

 

Special focus:

4/5: Mercury square Saturn.   Cold and practical thinking.    Chilly conservation. 

4/7 Venus Trine Saturn.  Love & money benefit by structure and focus and it is easy.

 

 

 

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”
