Pisces New Moon – 2021

Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle? 

When we draft a chart for the new moon, we get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days.  

Okay what is this cycle about   All you need is love, tap your love for 29 days.

Welcome to Pisces New Moon.   First things first, this is the final lunar month before Aries New Moon in April.  At THAT moon we will build our new Treasure Map.    Between now and then clear out all the clutter in your home, car, office and dump the clutter in your brain.  Thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve you, let them go.   You do not need to fill up the space with new thoughts, you can do that later.  In the meantime, just clear out the debris.

This Pisces New Moon arrives at a most auspicious anniversary date.   March 13, 2020 was a Friday the 13^th and on that day; officials announced that lock downs would begin in states, cities, countries. A few days earlier WHO announced that the world was in a global pandemic.   Now, a year later we know that  all of humanity would experience something that had not happened in over a hundred years, a world -wide plague.     While the science suggests Covid 19 will be with us for some time and there is no question that the impact of this plague will be felt for many years if not decades.    Having said that, at this moment, we do see a retreat of the disease in many countries and there is a hint of renewal in the air.  In that ‘hint’ this Pisces New Moon lands and beckons us to feel something inside of us, an emotional connection that perhaps there is something bigger going on than us humans bumping into each other.  

On the chart for this new moon, the Sun and the Moon are in a supportive sextile aspect to Pluto in Capricorn.  All of 2020 we had exhausting aspects with Pluto.  There was a palpable pressure that we had to make changes.    Now with this gentle aspect we have Pisces the last water element and the final sign in the zodiac touching Pluto.  This aspect lays the groundwork for an evolution in our emotions that comes from a more nuanced place during this 29-day cycle.  Any emotion that comes up could speak to us on a deep level and move our psyche so  that a shift appears.  Some blocks may actually dissolve in front of us, or we’ll be open to seeing them melt away.   Or maybe we have a dreamy vision to inform us of a new opportunity.   Pisces is all about dreams and visions.  Let them speak to us.     

Even more significant than the sextile with Pluto in the chart, the Sun and Moon are in conjunction with Venus and Neptune.   Love is in the air.   Venus is the planet of our values which include beauty, creativity, money and love.  Venus is how we show our love to the people in our lives.   Neptune which is the higher octave of Venus connects us to universal love, a love and appreciation we have for humanity.    Both loves will be pronounced this 29-day cycle.   

We may feel tender and moved to tears a lot this lunar cycle.  A loved one does something kind for us; or we watch someone do something beautiful for a stranger.  Watch for compassion and expressions of appreciation being pronounced in our own personal world and in the news.   

The constellation Pisces is two fish swimming in opposite direction but who are tied together.  As much as they may want to go in one direction there is a tug to go in the opposition direction just as pronounced.  For 29 days we may find ourselves going back and forth on issues or concerns.   Weighing, sorting through one way or another.   It is not a cycle where we come out of it black and white, instead we are drawn more to grey. There is a more textured answer.    The processing can be overwhelming and lack clarity at times but if we consider how love is at play it may help us find our center and a solid answer. 

Pisces is empathetic and sensitive.   It will rescue an animal or a human.  It can hide when it is overwhelmed but hiding too hard will cut it off from humanity.  It understands that intuition and art are healing.  Some hits of intuition will offer guidance but try not to go too far into la la land.   Keep a foot in reality even during the most rich daydreams.   

Pisces has a strong artistic sensibility and rules dance, music, film and painting  now adding the fact that both Venus and Neptune are pronounced in the new moon chart, these 29 days will be punctuated with art and appreciation of art.   

It is interesting that during the pandemic people turned to their own art for comfort.   Zoom rooms filled with people finding their artistic brethren.   Social media is resplendent with images of artistic endeavors.  Baked bread, tattoos, 100 screens of opera singers, our art has helped us heal.  For 29 days we may tap even more into our art, perhaps some of us who have been hiding it will now we put it out there.   One special note, for those people who marginalize universal love as not as meaningful as a lover, be prepared because for 29 days you may be brought to tears by a movie or a piece of music or painting.   THAT feeling inside you is a real experience of universal love.  The artist who created the piece of music or painted the painting or put the film together did not know you personally and may not even be alive today but their ability to tap into something so beautiful IS universal love.   I would argue a love note from a beloved is wonderful but so is looking out the window on a rainy April morning  while listening to Arron Copland’s Appalachian Spring.   For 29 days let’s not put one love above the other, let’s have our hearts connect to both of them.   

Although, the aspects in the chart are not stressful there are a few days that are tense.

Communication can be snappy.  Thoughts can be short fused.   Breaking new ground is healing but taking out frustrations on loved ones is not productive and can be hurtful.   Being honest is welcomed but doing it to hurt someone is something else.   Find love and honesty but let us all breathe from our heart and remember all of us are imperfect humans just trying to find our way.

Watch thy speech.   If you need space, take it but try to tap into your compassion nature before communicating.    

While it is a decent lunar chart, Pisces is super sensitive, and we may feel tapped out at times.   When we are really struggling stop by a house of faith and try prayer.  Consider it a song to Spirit.   

In conclusion,  this is by any measure a beautiful new moon chart and the fact that it is occurring a year after Covid exploded in our world is remarkable.   Like the frustrated child losing his or her way and is put in a chair to find their center, many of us have found ourselves in a year of Time Out.   What did this  year mean to us?  How did we rise to the occasion?  How did we miss the mark?  Where did our emotions get the better of us?  Where did our emotions lift us and others up?  Where did we crash into the lowest common denominator of thinking?   Where did we find the complainers and echo with them?   There is a lot for us to process as we continue this journey but right now for 29 days let our compassion and humanitarian heart guide us.   Anything that is not love, release it.   

And remember the next time we see each other will be our Treasure Map Aries New Moon where we planet seeds for the new lunar year!

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate, start projects.   Activate something that will ideally lead you to more.  This is the phase where INTENT is critical.  Even if the results are not immediate, the intent is there.  You may not have all the answers or road map, but you should put out your Intent.

This focus:    Our humanitarian heart is open to finding love.  Is it the love we receive or is it the love we give?   How are we appreciating our art?  How are we finding art in the world?  What is our intuition telling us?  How are we finding prayer?    

Special note:

3/13 Venus conjunction Neptune.  Dreamy.  Love of a human and humanity.   Values feel supported.

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything.  Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking tickets.  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

Focus on: What are learning about your learning about your ability to be practical?  What are you learning about plowing in deep on something?  What are you learning about money and property?  What are learning about building something from ground up?

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received. Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call, or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals, we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects.  Some independence may need to be exerted. 

Focus on:  What actions are you taking that support your emotions? What actions are you taking that are driven by family concerns?  What actions are you taking that support your homelife?  What actions are you taking that remind you of your childhood?

3/23 Mercury square Mars.  Thoughts raced, destructive conversation, explosive thoughts.   Perhaps some prayer can help or a good movie will be centering.  

Gibbous Moon

Gibbous:

We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.  

Focus on:  How are you refining or using discretion with your art?  How are you being exact about your strength? Have you been neglecting a previous success?  How could those past rewards be useful now? 

Special focus

3/25 Venus conjunction Sun.  Values in sync with spirit.  Feeling connected to something energized and big.  Feeling right with the world. 

3/26 Mars conjunction North node.  Communication full throttle.  Going into the weeds for truth.  Eclipse those who peddle in gossip.

3/28 Venus conjunction Chiron.  Wounds around being independent are exposed.  Love of going it alone.   Creativity that is new and fresh.

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually, emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us.  There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?  

Focus on:  

What is going on with your relationships?  How are you finding balance?  Where are you out of whack?  Why?  Where do you begin, and another person ends?   How do you find your independence but still be connected to others? 

Special focus 

3/29: Sun conjunction Chiron Wounds around being independent going your own way, exposed, feelings of breaking out.   Actions that need to be taken and push for growth. 

3/29: Mercury conjunction Neptune.  Cloudy thinking.  Dreamy thoughts.  Spiritual practices are highlighted.

Disseminating: Share information; find a teacher or someone who has more knowledge. Perhaps there was a big ol’ blow out on the full and one feels in need of support and help, this is the phase to reach out to one who knows more. This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.   And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information.  

Focus on:  How are you sharing your ability to go deep?  How are you sharing information on debt? How are you sharing your ability to let go and evolve?

4/3 Mercury enters Aries

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living “The serenity prayer”

Focus on:

What actions are taking that strengthen your position in society?  How are you taking action that impacts your career?  How are you putting yourself out there?  How are you connecting to government and business?

Balsamic:   We let go.  By releasing we can prepare for the new.  

Focus on How are you releasing victimhood?  How are you releasing confusion?  How are you releasing overly sentimentality?  

4/9: Mercury conjunction Chiron.  Thoughts about being independent, going own way.  Growth in the thinking and communication. 

4/9: Mars square Neptune.  Actions based on ‘faith’ may be shaky.   Finding deeper connections to spirituality may be helpful.
