Re: Mars turns retrograde as Jupiter conjuncts Neptune on the Winter Solstice

Dear clients, traders, and friends:

Happy holiday wishes! The Winter Solstice on Monday, Dec. 21st is the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere. It marks the beginning of the Winter season as Jupiter forms its third and final conjunction to Neptune.

So what are some keywords for "Jupiter/Neptune?" How about "false hope" "over optimism" "clouded judgment" " mass deception!" These are two dangerous planetary pairs together. But there is a positive side too of course. How about "spiritual illumination" "mass transformation" "expanded perception" "improved outlook". So which ones are in play? Much depends on the aspects this planetary pair is forming to planets in your own chart and your own state of mind!

On a mundane level..........the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction tends to play out more as false hope and mass deception. So.......now that this aspect has completed for the third and final time in 2009......hey that kind of rhymes.......and as the stock market is making new highs...........it is TIME for a reality check! What areas of our lives have we been wearing the rose colored glasses? Are all the problems in the economy suddenly solved this past year due to the printing of money and let the good times roll again? Things ain't what they appear to be. That is for sure!

Regarding financial markets......the stock indices have been going sideways for six weeks and now they may be breaking out even higher getting ready for a traditional Santa Claus rally. If they do continue higher, we may finally get a top in January as Saturn retrogrades and Jupiter enters the new sign of Pisces around the time of the Solar Eclipse on Jan 15th. In commodity markets, Gold has been declining into this strong astrological turning point on Dec. 21st. Looks like a good buying opportunity to me again! Unless you believe the U.S. Dollar is worth more than the paper it is printed on......then keep your money in soon to be pesos earning virtually no interest.

So what's up with Mars? The planet Mars has an apparent retrograde cycle every two years for about two and half months. As the planet Mars turns retrograde once again, this will continue until March 10th when it turns direct. Mars will continue to transit the sign of Leo until June 7th. Let the extrovert in you and your inner confidence shine! The planet Mars is very happy in the sign of Leo. However, as Mars' retrogrades, we may have to also reevaluate the way we do things!

The retrograde of Mars affects the signs of Aries and Scorpio or those with Aries or Scorpio rising the most. In any case, this cycle may require some back stepping and dealing with unfinished matters from the past before we can move ahead again towards goals. Don't feel frustrated if delays are in the picture.....this is only temporary. The Mar's retrograde can also allow us to heal or fix actions we made in the past......so you may get a second chance to get it right, unless your name is Tiger!

We are also moving into another Mercury retrograde lasting from Dec. 26th - Jan. 15th. It is best to postpone making major decisions or purchases during this phase of Mercury. It is usually premature. The Lunar Eclipse will also strike at 10 degrees of Cancer right on New Years day as well! The year 2009 may seriously go out with a bang........just avoid too much emotional drama and keep a cool head. Situations could get exaggerated towards the end of December. Don't let the lunar eclipse turn you into a lunatic on new years!
