TAURUS NEW MOON 2011 –

Many years ago I studied lunar phases with Robert Buz Myers.  It is my hope that he would be proud of my work today.  Blessings to you, Buz! 

What is a New Moon?

A new moon is when the moon is between the sun and the earth and the illuminated part of the moon is very small.  Technically, when you look up in the sky you only see a small, skinny section of moon.       

 

And the not so technical point of view?

 

Well, similar to farmers and indigenous people, who have used the different phases of the moon for eons, Astrologers also utilize the different phases of the Moon.  Certainly on the New we know it is time to plant seeds.  But the other seven phases are equally important.

 

Where should my focus be during this next 28-day cycle?

When we draft a chart for the new moon we can get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 28 days. 

 

Okay what is this cycle about?    If you need a month to dig in get moving on a new life or if you need a month to even repair your life---then this is the month for you.  Watch what comes into your world for the next 28 days and see how it can be used to your advantage and your future.

TAURUS –Where there is a way---build upon it. 

 

A small confession.  Sometimes when I draft a chart for a new moon, I ask myself if this chart was not a Moon’s chart but instead was the chart of a human, “Would I like this person?   Many times the answer is NO.  But I have to say with this chart, I would like them.    Especially, now having completed 28 days of Aries.

 

Last month we were fiery, we were all action, we were racing so hard that we could barely see straight.  But we knew we had to do it because that is what Aries calls upon us to do—get straight and get out in front of stuff and get out in front our future.  Thus, the Treasure Maps.

 

But now we are in Taurus and Taurus likes to SLOW things down.  Way down.    The catch phrase for Taurus should be, “Hold on.”    It is the first earth sign of the zodiac and it is earthy.  It likes to dig in the dirt and put down roots.  It is grounded.     Super grounded, like the 737s in Southwest Airlines.  Taurus doesn’t fly up high they want what is nearby.     They like to be invited to the party and they might even throw the party but don’t get Taurus to go out on the limb.  They are not interesting in going out of their comfort zone.   They want to keep things close so they can control their world (as if anyone can really control their world).  They are adverse to risk taking.   But get them to build upon their own success slowly, bit by bit?  They are all over that path!  And they do it beautifully.   While others fritter away time and money Taurus will slowly put something away until they have a real concrete result.    It is not a surprise that Taurus rules real estate, properties and to a certain extent money and banks.   They really get the value of holding something.     A little bit at a time and they will get where they want to get.    Of course, as grounded as they can be, they are also very stubborn and that is their greatest blind spot.  

 

Unfortunately when others have jettisoned jobs, people and situations long after their usefulness ---there is Taurus still hanging on.    As much as everyone around them gives great suggestions and new ideas, their answer is, “Thanks, but no thanks, I will just keep doing  ______.”   Despite its drawbacks they will continue doing  ____ .   Even when everyone else has moved onto PLAN B and thriving Taurus is still trying to make Plan A work.     Their stick-to-it-ness is beautiful and can really serve them.   But it is also a huge blind spot.   If they are so busy trying to make something work no matter how much it probably is NOT going to work they are missing on real opportunities elsewhere.   The question is how can they measure themselves?   That answer is between them and their maker and hopefully they check in to get guidance.  

 

FIRE MEET EARTH

 

But back to the chart of this New Moon.   The Sun and The Moon are at 13 Taurus making a wonderful trine to Pluto.   That shiny package with the red bow on it is a gift from the Universe.  Taurus which is putting down roots and digging in has got Pluto which is THE drill bit of the century.    This is excellent news for us, now we can dig in and start building.   For the next 28 days, be on the alert for opportunities where you can build new foundations for your future.   Remember, if something concrete shows up and you can see how this could take you down a road that matches your Treasure Map you would be advised to consider that path and do that work.    

 

In addition to the trine with Pluto, there is a huge stellium, which means a bunch of planets right next to each other in Aries.  Venus, the ruling planet of Taurus is conjunct Mercury which is conjuncting Jupiter and Mars.   All four of these guys are in Aries (along with Uranus).  As we know Aries is a fire sign and loves action.   Expect a lot of talk (Mercury) about values and love (Venus).  You will hear people being very vocal about what they need and want.  And of course because it is in Aries it will get noisy.   

 

Then with Mercury conjunct Jupiter and Mars, the accent for 28 days will also be about breaking any mental blocks (Mercury) that are keeping us from expanding our world (Jupiter) and doing the action (Mars) that we need to do to support our new adventures and life!  

 

SATURN KEEPS EVERYONE HONEST

 

Five planets in Aries fire bring out a lot of sparks and will ignite us all.  However, luckily we also have Taurus rational thinking will prevailing.   Strong actions but at the same time simple goals reward us on many levels.   Additionally, Saturn is in opposition to Venus which is a bit more potent due to the fact that it is Taurus’ ruling planet.   Saturn is a tough planet, loves discipline and routines and is highly responsible.  Venus is joy, pleasure, love, and also gluttony, greed and excessiveness.    Saturn is all for structuring our lives to bring us more love and joy (thank you, Venus).  But if it is excessive or misguided Saturn will shoot it down.       So, what are we suppose to do?  Get depressed and say, ‘What’s the use?”  No.  If we find a cold wet blanket gets tossed our way, we will make some shifts and adjustments (remember Mercury is making a nice aspect to Venus) and we will shore up for a minute or two and then go out again and come up with another practical solution.   

 

Remember oppositions are nothing more than a mirror to what is working and what is not.   And believe me as one who is in the middle of a diet, I am not a fan of mirrors either but I know that as long as it reflects an image I don’t like, it empowers me to make the changes I need to make.    Use the mirror to your advantage and you’ll do okay.

 

Of course, watch any stubbornness but if you can exert some of the Aries quickness while at the same time grabbing the Taurus sensibility  you should be okay this month.  Scratch that… MORE than okay.  You will probably THRIVE.     

 

In conclusion:

Like I said, I like this chart.  I’ll take the Saturn opposition Venus as long as I get the Sun/Moon trine Pluto.  And frankly, I relish slowing down.  Oh, lordy yes.  But more than my cuckoo schedule I think we will all benefit by slowing down and looking at the things that pop up in our life that could really serve us.  If we were moving too fast we would miss it.    And that would be OUR loss.   Slow it down and grow.  You deserve it.

 

 

 

 

New Moon Phase

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate, start projects.   Activate something that will ideally lead you to more.  This is the phase where INTENT is critical.  Even if the results are not immediate, the intent is there.  You may not have all the answers or road map but you should put out your Intent.  

 

Special focus: 

 Feel rooted.  Put your feet in the ground and breathe.  Feel connected.  You aren't airy fairy, you aren't racing from one corner to another, you have roots and you are digging in.   What area needs to be grounded?  What needs concrete actions?  How is your real estate and your properties?   Where are you being too stubborn?  Where are being blind?   Where is Plan B? 

 

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything.  Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking ticket?  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

 

Focus on:  

Watch what comes up and ask if it rooted in your family?  Or is it rooted in your childhood?  What information are you getting that is emotional?   How is your relationship with family working or not working?  What are you learning?

5/9: Mercury/Pluto: Sharp, concise, exacting words.  Not necessarily mean but precise. Great mental day.

 

 

First Quarter Moon

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received.  Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects.  Some independence may need to be exerted.

 

 

Focus on:

Where do you feel fired up?   How would passion and drama serve you?  What actions can you take now that give you pride?   Where is your integrity?   Are you keeping true to plans?   Where is Ego?  Is it helping or hurting?

 We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, we organize  to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions. 

 

 

Focus on:  

What are you missing or neglecting in your relationships?  What do you need to fine tune so you can get your balance  back?   How have you been neglecting the importance of negotiating?    Can you take your time and assess something before you jump on it?

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us.  There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you? 

 

Focus on:

5/20: Mars/Pluto:  Getting out and doing the work that will truly reform your place in the world and your life.

Disseminating Moon Phase

Disseminating: Share information; find a teacher or someone who has more knowledge. Perhaps there was a big ol’ blow out on the full and one feels in need of support and help, this is the phase to reach out to one who knows more. This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.   And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information. 

 

 

Focus on:    

How can you share your knowledge of business?  How can other smart executives share their information with you?  What if everything you learn in the next three days is coming from the great CEO in the sky?   What if every comment, every email,  every silly thing you sit down and watch on TV, what if that is speaking to you like a CEO?   How  might it help?

 

 

 

Special Focus

5/20: Mercury/Mars: Our inner warrior is on deck.  We say what we mean and we walk or talk.   We do not have time for in authenticity. 

5/21: Sun enters Gemini:  Happy birthday, get them an itunes card so they can download a book or app or something that connects them.

5/21: Venus/Pluto:  Love of power and powerful love.   Find empowerment through love and values.

5/22: Sun/Neptune: Illusions, delusions and deceipt and hiding in plain sight.

5/23: Venus/Mars:  Actions based on love and values.  It is simple, if you value it  you step up for it. 

 

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”

Focus on: 

If you were to push yourself to accomplish something in the next three days, how would it speak to you spiritually?   What would you inner mystic say to you?  What is going on inside you and on the outside that speaks of prayers?  Or how would you benefit by prayers?     Clear your conscious and then act.

Balsamic:  We release.  We let go.  We prune, we discard, we ditch stuff. We house clean. The things that no longer work, we let them out of our life.  We release so we can clear our unconscious and dream.  We prepare our unconscious to be ready for the next

 

 

Focus on   

Let go of “self” and see how your world benefits.   Like pants that are too tight, we don’t feel comfortable with all our good ideas and thoughts about number  self.  We benefit by releasing personal power and personal drive.  Let it go so we can access what is next.   Creativity and cleverness will be ours in the next cycle but we need to stop being , know –it- alls.  And control monsters.

6/1: Sun/Saturn:  Building upon successes, restructuring communication and relationships.  Ability to get to new speaking points that partners can hear.
