Virgo NEW MOON 2019

Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle? 

When we draft a chart for the new moon we can get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days.  

Okay what is this cycle about?  How are your insecurities shaking you up?  How are you taking care of details? Are you seeing the forest for the trees?   You are about to enter a dark forest and now would be the time to put the drone in the air to get some perspective.

Virgo New Moon 

August 30

Is everyone ready to get Virgo on?  Good because the heavens have loaded up this Virgo New Moon with a lot of action.  This new moon chart has Sun, Moon right next to Mars, Venus and Mercury all in Virgo.    Mars of course is the Ferrari sports car, Venus the goddess of love and Mercury the brainiac  and there they all are in the car with the Sun and the Moon. This speaks to either a comedy series on Netflix or a very action packed lunar 29 -day cycle

Before we get into the nature of the sports car full of planetary characters it’s important to set up the bigger landscape.   After all, if we have a car on a road it is good to know where the road is headed. 

On January 12, 2020; Saturn conjuncts Pluto at 22 Capricorn.  We have already discussed in previous reports that that these two outer planets only come into conjunction about once every thirty plus years and the last time was 1982 in Libra.  The last time they came together in the sign Capricorn was in 1518.    Without going into a serious history lesson, know that in the run up of the 1518 aspect, China received the first official diplomat of a European power (Portugal) and Martin Luther started the reformation that changed the course of Christianity.   Some time shortly after the conjunction the African Slave trade commenced.  Gulp.    Saturn, Pluto & Capricorn all speak to power, sometimes evolutionary power and sometimes abject cruel power.   Capricorn also speaks to commerce, business and government.  It does not take a lot of imagination to see parallels to today.  

One thing, remember, Martin Luther translated and posted his theses against the Catholic Church in October, three months before the 1518 aspect.   At this new moon we are four months from the aspect so we are technically  ‘in it’.  Taking the landscape even farther; Jupiter will also conjunct Pluto in 2020 and it will conjunct Saturn in the sign Aquarius.  2020 is arguably a huge astrological year.  Let’s look at the dates important to these 2020 aspects so we can all give ourselves a spinal adjustment and sit up straight.

All of these aspects and dates may seem overwhelming and believe me they are hard just to type but they tell the story that is in our future for the next 15 months.  It is a bumpy period filled with many moments where we are between a rock and a hard place.   Many of us will be feeling like we are put into a mill, where we are grinded down. Obviously some people will feel it more than others especially anyone with planets in Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn around 22 -25 degrees.  The early degree Aquarians will also be coming into focus at the end of 2020 but we’ll save that discussion for later next year.   

So, why are we going so deep into what is going on in 2020 at the Virgo New Moon?   Besides the fact that Virgo LOVES details, it is important to start going in deep on these aspects now because on September 18^thshortly after the full moon during this Virgo lunar cycle Saturn will turn direct and like a hurricane heading for land, Saturn will begin the grind to the January 12 aspect.   We have already experienced the acceleration of Jupiter who turned direct on August 11 and is churning up action for its own aspect (1 of 3) with Pluto exact on April 4.  If you look at the news check the headlines starting around August 11 you will see there is a heating up of tension.  If you reflect on your own personal life you may see there has been an acceleration in actual need to deal with stuff or if not a concrete need you have been feeling ‘something’ speeding up that may not be exactly clear but is felt.     

So, now let’s go back to Mars and that crazy Ferrari filled with the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury all in Virgo.    Virgo is detailed.   Virgo loves facts.  Virgo dots every “I” and crosses every T.  God help the world if we didn’t have Virgo.   Virgo can remember that one fact that everyone forgot and, damn, if it does not turn out to be critical to some solution.   Virgo remembers birthdays and will pop a card into the mail to a friend and it could turn out to be the only card that friend receive on their special day. As you can imagine Virgo has a place in everyone’s heart, even when they bug.  The bugging by Virgo is it can get lost in the weeds.  Virgo is a very nervous energy and is always moving.   It is always fixing and cleaning whether it home, work, a stomach waistline, a kitchen counter or a lover.  Fix fix fix.   Virgo is an insecure energy and it goes over its ‘to-do’ list over and over again, hunting for that thing it is sure it forgot.   Virgo loves to be practical which it can do except when its insecurity is running amok, then it is not practical, it is just venting its worrisome nature.   Virgo’s Achilles heal is often a deep lack of faith.  It may love church or temple or a mosque but deep in the dark of night it is not sure there really is something bigger out there.    

For 29 days we may find our insecurity up where we get into fights (Mars) but then kiss and make up (Venus).  We will probably be moving fast because that a lot of nervous energy for a new moon chart signaling a warp speed ahead.   We could be moved by our hearts (Venus) to fix (Virgo) something but perhaps we come on too strong (Mars) and then retreat back to our comfortable patterns in our daily schedule (Sun/Moon).    Letting the bigger picture tell the story to Virgo is always a challenge but as we discussed above we are in a complicated big astrological cycle now.    It is possible the energy we are feeling in this 28 day cycle indicates fixes we need to do that will support us in this big 15 month cycle.   Obviously, diet and exercise is a huge component to Virgo energy. Some of you may need to make some major changes in your physicality and should use this 29 day cycle to launch new diets and routine.  Daily (Virgo) meditation would also be helpful if you find your brain (mercury) wound up too fast.   You can find a lot on the WWW.  I recently had a session with Kathryn Schiff that you may enjoy.   Again, look out there you can find one that works for you.  Note: The simpler the better.   http://kathrynschiff.com/basically-meditations

The new moon chart has a bonus aspect from our friend Uranus.  Uranus is in trine to Sun/Moon/Mercury/Venus (some wider) and this brings the gift of the unexpected.  Uranus is retrograde and this is the first time its retrograde totally in Taurus since 1941, so there is some unusual information Uranus may bring into our life this cycle that speaks to money, resources, property and love.    As you process your insecurities and maybe even a little depression as you believe there is no pony under all that shit, Uranus will offer an unusual surprise.   The person who hires you out of blue, an unexpected check, a phone call that someone is working on a problem that you felt was hopeless.  What ever unexpected good comes your way, embrace it and remind Virgo—“See there is something bigger going on out there.   And please do not marginalize the gift Uranus gives you because it was simply unexpected.  Embrace it! 

Saturn Stations Direct

Saturn turned retrograde on April 29 and during the last five months we have learned a lot about responsibility and work.  We have also learned through failures.     Sometimes we looked around and said, “Can I get some help, please?”  And the answer was a very loud, “No”.  We just had to do it ourselves.   The grind was real and hard and seemed just damn stupid at times but in the end we learned about our skills, discipline and stick-to-it-ness.  Saturn delays but it does not deny and now that it is turning direct we will see a lot of the fruits of our hard work.  Saturn spends only two (and change) years in one sign.    It has been 28 years since the last time it was in Capricorn in 1988-1991.   Now turning direct it straightens out and flies right where it will hit Pluto in January.  Be prepared to see the energy intensify, as Saturn turning direct activates a trip wire on our path to the January conjunction.    Then on March 21 it leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius.  It turns retrograde on May 10 and re-enters Capricorn on July 1 for its final months of the hard work and discipline lesson until it re-enters Aquarius in December 2020.  After that point it will not re-enters Capricorn until 2047.    So, ask yourself what did you learn about hard work since April?  What did you learn about skipping hard work that maybe you should have shown more discipline?  Can you take the energy of Saturn direct to help you now as you refine your world?  How can this Virgo cycle speak to Saturn and ask for help?   Get on the right side of Saturn while you have this gift of Saturn being in its home sign of Capricorn.  Unless you feel you have the time to wait until 2047 when it returns.   I know I don’t.

It is hard to believe that in all the crazy, cuckoo energy of wound up Virgo and Saturn acceleration as it moves forward we also get the final square between Jupiter and Neptune.  

We have been feeling these two planets in their little war over faith all year with the first aspect hit on January 13 and the second on June 16.   You may want to go back to your calendar and see how you were challenged.  Where did you have a crisis of faith?   Did you have some big dreams that didn’t get realized?  Was it something small that just hurt enough to cause your cynic to emerge?   Have you learned something now that by this final aspect you are changing your approach or belief?   Or are you going to go back to the well of  disappointment again and learn yet another lesson?   Hard to tell.    Jupiter rules Sagittarius (where it is right now) and before Neptune was discovered Jupiter also ruled Pisces.    So there is a kinship between the two planets even when they are squared.  But they have big differences.   Jupiter in Sag is too opinionated.   Neptune in Pisces is too vague.   Where one explains why something should happen the other lifts up its hands in either prayer or frustration and say, “its not up to me.”     Finding the spot in between both approaches is not easy but the path is finding quiet and reflecting on routes that solve any hardness in the heart.   Do not fall into cynicism.  Do not fall into fantasy.    Neither are accurate, and they are too worldly.  Instead look for an inner compass that can only be found when you get quiet and are open.  Let that gift come with this final round between Jupiter & Neptune.   There is so much truth inside you, use this aspect to tune into it.  

In conclusion: 

The Virgo 29 day cycle will support refinement of our world.   Our personal world and for some the world beyond us.   We are in extraordinary days and much will be revealed during this cycle that will need our attention.   Luckily Virgo loves to pick up pieces so if anything is broken we will figure a solution.    Take care that you are not too overwhelmed.  Watch your calendar like a hawk.   You may be putting in things you didn’t plan on when you woke up in the day but if you are reflective you will know it will serve you later.

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate, start projects.   Activate something that will ideally lead you to more.  This is the phase where INTENT is critical.  Even if the results are not immediate, the intent is there.  You may not have all the answers or road map but you should put out your Intent.

This focus:  How are you managing details?  How are you refining your world?  How are you taking care of business?  How is your insecurity nervous energy up?  What is it telling you?  How are you finding your center despite your nerves?   Are you getting hints on where you are heading in 2020?   

Special focus:

9/1: Mercury trine Uranus.  Practical mentality shows genius. 

9/1:  Venus trine Saturn.  Practical resources are valued. Hard work is loved. 

9/2: Sun conjunct Mars.  Obsessive compulsiveness is up.  Insecurities get our attention and we run around because of them. 

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything. Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking ticket?  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

Focus on: What information are you receiving that speaks to your relationship(s)?  What are you learning about getting your balance? What are you learning about tit-for-tat? How are you responding to something even if you do not know it? 

Special Focus

8/2 Venus square Jupiter.  Watch the excesses!  That includes, food, money, love and opinions!

9/3 Mercury conjunct Mars.  Mental stuff is on overload.  Find a way to clear your brain and settle down.  Racing may be hard to avoid but try to stay organized. 

9/3 Sun conjunct Mercury. Mental stuff is he center of attention.  To-Do list can feel important and a bit overwhelming.  The value is taking your time.   Find your inner compass.   

9/5: Mercury trine Saturn.  Work seems focused.  Mentality seems productive.  Communication can be sharp but right on it. 

First Quarter Moon

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received. Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects. Some independence may need to be exerted. 

Focus on: What are actions are you taking that propel you towards a goal?  What actions are you taking that help you build upon details that have been missing? What actions can you take that put your faith into patience?   How does faith serve a higher goal?     

Special Focus:

9/6: Sun Trine Saturn.  Discipline and daily action are giving importance.   Focused on hygiene and diet may get your attention.   What’s not working seem easy to fix. 

9/6 Venus Trine Pluto.  Depth to love.  Depth to values.  Sharing intimacies with another deepens your own sense of self value. 

9/7: Mercury oppose Neptune.  Conversations may not be exactly accurate.  Confused thinking.   Details get blurry.   Faith gets put through a mental test. 

9/8: Sun square Jupiter Ideas seem too big.   Attitudes seem to small.   What approach can be taken that blends the small with the big? 

9/8: Mercury trine Pluto.  Good, strong thinking brings new growth.  Evolution is on the mind.  

9/8: Mars trine Saturn. Actions and structure go hand in hand.  Practicality is the solution for everything today.

We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.  

Focus on:  Where do your friends and groups need refining?  How are your groups taking valuable time?  Do they work for you and your schedule?  How are friends NOT in your daily life enough?   Do you know how to make time for people whom you are in sync? 

Special focus

9/10:  Sun oppose Neptune, truth is not to be believed. How are lies being showcased?  How is getting lost into too many details killing faith?  

9/12: Mars square Jupiter.  Actions seem small.  Pettiness gets in the way of big goals.  Stopping the parade to pick up a nickel does what for everyone? 

9/13: Mercury conjunct Venus.  Valuable thinking.  Kindness wins

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us. There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?  

Focus on:  

What is your spiritual nature saying to you? Where is your faith?  Where is your inner mystic?   How do you get practical about faith?  How do you use your faith to find your constructive abilities?

This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.  And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information.  

Focus on:  How are you sharing your practical nature?  How are you sharing your solidness?  How are you sharing your values?

The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense. And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”
