SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON 2018

Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle? 

When we draft a chart for the new moon we can get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days.  

Okay what is this cycle about?

Being inspired is mandatory this cycle and talking to other humans is vital.  Hiders are put on notice--- you are not that special—mix it up!

Sagittarius New Moon

A few weeks ago Jupiter, the biggest, gooiest, most ginormous planet in the zodiac went into Sagittarius.   Jupiter LOVES being in Sagittarius.  Why?  Because it is his home sign.   Glory Be! Jupiter is farting in feathers when he is in Sag.  He is only going to be here for one year and he will want to make the most of it, which means we would all be well served to make the most of this New Moon and lunar cycle in Sagittarius.  

So, let’s go down to the studs and ask a few questions: 

Where is your sense of adventure?  

When is the last time you met someone new?  

When is the last time you met someone ‘foreign’? That does not mean they have to be from another country they could be from your hometown but be ‘foreign’ in lifestyle and experience.  

Where is your inspiration? 

How do you inspire others? 

Who is your teacher, rabbi, or spiritual advisor? 

How are you an advisor to others?  

How are you a teacher? 

How is your story telling?

What books are you reading that ‘take you someplace’? 

How do you have fun?  

What is compelling you to be a better and bigger person?  

How often are you laughing?  

How are you generous?  

How are you putting the overall good above personal issues?  

Are you seeing a theme?   

When working at the higher evolved Sagittarius level we are reminded of the power in a jovial, enthusiastic nature and observing the glass half full.   For a year we had Jupiter in Scorpio, which sent us to the dark.  For a year we saw where there was gunk in the system and we did everything we could to flush out the crap and build something new.   It took will power that we didn’t think we had but Jupiter kept us energized and we did the work in front of us.   Both in personal and global endeavors.  From these deaths we had rebirths and from that we found empowerment.  Jupiter did what it was supposed to do in Scorpio.    Now we need to recharge the batteries through Sagittarius.   We find our energy through inspired thinking and mixing it up with humanity. 

There is a story in every moment.   The person waiting with you when you smog test your car.  The guy next to you on the bus.  The lady with all those boxes at the post office.   You could judge them and think you got the ‘story’. But when you take a moment and engage your fellow human you may learn more.   Perhaps the woman is shipping a gift that took her months to research and then you ponder the thoughtfulness and wonder if the person who receives it will feel that they are loved?  And you wonder if that feeling will keep them warm during this winter season?   And something in you will be moved.   Or you observe a person in a wheel chair and their loved one is laughing with them, sharing a joke while helping them navigate a corner.   Do you only see the wheelchair?   Or do you see the love and the connection between the humans despite the ‘half empty’ physical impairment.   THIS is why we have Jupiter in Sag.   For twenty- nine days we ponder the stories that surround us.  We take time to ask about others.   We are a human bridge to another person through stories.  This is how we find our energy and enthusiasm. And admit it---you need this connection.  This is the cycle where we learn to celebrate the beauty that is being an ‘ordinary’ human.  

The Sag New Moon Chart does have a tough aspect with both Mars and Neptune (in Pisces).  With Neptune who is also in its home sign, staying grounded can be difficult.  We’ll have to work hard not to get carried away in ‘airy fairy-ness.’   It is one thing to be inspired it is another thing to follow someone delusional.  Stay connected to your own maker.   Mars in Pisces is a bit of a pirate on the high seas.  He’s ready to do battle but then a big wave sends him in another direction.   For twenty days our inner warrior may lose his headings.   We will need to begin each day with a moment of quiet as we reflect upon what needs to be our goals for the day.    For those who have a good knowledge of astrology they may feel it is counter intuitive during Sagittarius lunar cycle to be only focused on the day at hand and they have a point, that feels more like Virgo than Sag who always has his bow and arrow pointed off on a target way off in the distance.  But with Neptune and Mars so pronounced on this New Moon the value is going inward.   We will get to those goals remember Saturn is in his home sign, too and his Capricorn Lunar cycle is next month.   But right now we need to be inspired.  We need to feel good about our life.  We need to feel good about the world around us.  As challenging as that can be for some of us we need to give it a good old college try which is perfect considering Sag rules colleges.  

One tip for this twenty nine day cycle---Stay away from hypocrites.  Jupiter will be squaring Neptune most of 2019 and we’ll be up against people who yell the importance of being virtuous and yet are  up to something completely different in their own lives.  Don’t be afraid to turn them off.   Spirit will take care of  a lot of that nonsense in 2019.   

In conclusion:  Enjoy your daily life.  Find abundance no matter how small and relish it.  Turn on your light.   You will be your own best motivational speaker when you talk to yourself!

Sagittarius New Moon

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate, start projects.   Activate something that will ideally lead you to more.  This is the phase where INTENT is critical.  Even if the results are not immediate, the intent is there.  You may not have all the answers or road map but you should put out your Intent.

This focus:  Be inspired. Be generous.  Be open.  Be willing. Take your time.  Slow down and talk to those fellow humans on Earth next to you.  Hear those stories.   Be transported.   Connect to the light in everyone.     

Special focus 

12/7: Mars conjunct Neptune: Fuzzy actions.  Inspired action.  High intuition.   Mis-steps based on something not exactly accurate. 

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything. Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking ticket?  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

Focus on: What information are you learning about your friends and associates?  What are you learning about like-minded thinkers?  How are they in sync with your goals?   How are your circles of people in alignment with your aspirations?  How are you aspirational to your friends?  How do they inspire you?

12/12 Mercury enters Sagittarius

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received. Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects.  Some independence may need to be exerted. 

Focus on: What actions can you take that support the seeds you planted on new moon?  How will these actions benefit your aspirations?   Where do you need spiritual support to reach your goals?

Gibbous Moon

We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.  

Focus on: 

How are refining your practical nature?  How are you refining your disciplined nature? How are you refining your ability to be ‘sure & steady’ to win the race?   How is this process inspiring? 

Special focus: 

12/20 Sun Trine Uranus.  Joy and creativity come together.  Fun, inspiration and break through that speaks to new goals. 

12/21 Venus Trine Neptune.  Intuition is high.  Love and money mean something when they inspire kindness

12/21 Mercury conjunct Jupiter. Crazy big ideas, big thinking.  Big conversations.   Maybe a bit exaggerated.

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us. There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?

Disseminating: Share information; find a teacher or someone who has more knowledge. Perhaps there was a big ol’ blow out on the full and one feels in need of support and help, this is the phase to reach out to one who knows more. This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.  And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information.  

Focus on:  How are you sharing your bravery?  How are you sharing your generosity?  How are you sharing your dramatic side?  How are you sharing your creativity?

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense. And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”

What actions are you taking that speak to your partnerships? What action are you taking that speak to finding balance? What do you need to do more of that you have neglected?  How will support bigger goals?   Where do you need to negotiate?   How is negotiating inspired?

12/31: Mars enters Aries.   Fight or flight.    Breaking out of old routines.  New ground.   Actions that bring on Independence.
