Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle? 

When we draft a chart for the new moon we can get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days.  

Okay what is this cycle about? 

As sweet and nice a Libra Lunar cycle can look believe me there is something much deeper going on underneath.   Use it to your advantage.

Libra New Moon

The Libra New Moon is upon us.  First order of business:  Take a look at your Treasure Maps.  It is the halfway mark of the lunar year.  What things on your map have manifested?   What images are bearing fruit?  What is still to come?   What do you need to do to be open to more results?  What changes do you need to make that will help facilitate movement? And if you feel stuck as if nothing has arrived, take heart, it is now the sixth month which means six more months for manifestations.  Many of us have seen our greatest results arrive in the last three months of the lunar year.  We’ll check back in on the map in January during Capricorn New Moon. 

Welcome to Libra New Moon.  It is an interesting lunar month.   Let’s get through some astro mumble jumble: 

Ceres conjuncts Moon and Sun   

The New Moon chart is in square with Pluto.  

Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio.   

The chart ruler is Venus who is retrograde in the sign Scorpio. 

Okay, right there we are seeing a Scorpio influence in the chart.  

We don’t usually spend much time talking about the small planets and asteroids not because they aren’t valuable but more because I don’t want to overwhelm my readers.  But it is impossible to NOT talk about Ceres this cycle given she is front and center with a conjunction to the Sun and Moon. 

Brief background:  Ceres is the goddess of grain and harvest and she was a fierce single mom.  Her daughter Persephone was kidnapped by Pluto and taken to his underground lair.  There’s Pluto again!    Ceres was despondent when her daughter was missing and no grain grew during her grief.  Eventually Ceres found Persephone and an agreement was made that Persephone would spend half the year with Pluto and the other half with her mother.  When Persephone is down below in Hades with Pluto there is no harvest and earth is in winter and when she is out above ground with Ceres it is summer and of course grain is abundant.   That is Ceres in a nutshell.   We should expect single mothers to be in the news during these twenty-nine days.  If we are not a single mom or the result of a single mom we may still be drawn to the stories of women who are doing all they can with odds against them for their own children or children in general.   We should also be aware of negotiations. What deal(s) will be made in the next 29 days?  I am sure Ceres would have loved to have had Persephone all to herself but her daughter wanted to be with Pluto so Ceres cut the best deal should could given the circumstances.  Watch for deal and negotiations in your life and in the news for twenty-nine days.  Wheat and grain historically speak to nurturance.  Food and nurturance will be in the news.   On a personal level how are you finding your own nurturance?  How are you slowing down and taking care of self?   Watch for an act of nurturance to make the news.   Oh, and if you aren’t taking care of your self, exactly who do you think will be doing that for you?  Others?  How Libra of you.  Find your inner Capricorn and be ruthless about your own self- nurturing.  

Pluto  & Venus 

The square between the Sun & Moon in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn is a test of sitting back and letting things just ‘fall into place’ versus getting out there and working for something that is important.  Capricorn will do all it can to get its goal.   It can be ruthless.   Libra who does not like to rock the boat can look the other way and be deliberate in its obtuseness in order to keep peace or keep its balance.    

The square will speak to areas of our life where we are looking the other way to just ‘keep the peace’.   It will also suggest actions that are cold and callous in order to get to the goal.   Finding the spot in between will be difficult at times.  It may be a minute by minute act of negotiation.  Lean into the act of finding your power and negotiating your needs.  See if you can learn something about yourself in the next twenty-nine days as you keep your cool but not collapse.   Pluto in Capricorn is finding our power even when things look like complete insanity.    

Venus in Scorpio is retrograde.  During this current six -week cycle we are considering a lot about our self worth.  How are we finding our own value?   How are we seeing our value in the outer world?  How are we seeing values in others?  Venus is in a warring square with Mars in Aquarius.   Mars the planet of action is focused on community and being out there with the world and getting the world to get to a new destination.  Venus in Scorpio finds her value in intimacy and sex and shared money and deep connection.   With the square how does Venus find her value if no one is showering her with adoration?    

The retrograde is about turning inward for self- worth.   And then taking our value to our community who support us.  If our circles of community push back it may be time for new group(s). 

Money  & Love  & Power 

Venus speaks to our values, money and love, which go hand in hand with that which is valued.   Watch your bank account.  Money could seem wonky.  But at the same time some of us will understand that we are not being paid fair (Libra word) for our skills and efforts.   The tension between the New Moon chart and Pluto in Capricorn along with the conjunction with Ceres suggests that many a person during this next twenty-nine days will be planting a seed (like Pluto who gave a pomegranate seed to Persephone) and the result will be an escape in the near future.   Plans will be hatched and perhaps around the time of the Capricorn new moon (Jan 6) people will begin their action to get out of Dodge. Whether it is a job, relationship, community or environment there will be a jump.   Or at least the beginning of a jump and when they consider what made them do it—many roads will lead back to this twenty-nine day cycle. 

Women 

The square with Pluto, the ruling planet Venus in Scorpio, the conjunction with Ceres bring tremendous depth to this twenty day lunar cycle and the accent on women is strong this cycle.  

As indicated above, Venus rules women and Ceres connects to single women and single mothers.   Persephone can speak to young women and we may see some stories come out about female victims in the twenty-nine day cycle.   However there will be stories of warriors (Mars square Venus) who use their story from the pit of personal hell (Pluto) to redemptive glory as motivation to move others.    Both men and women will be feeling connected to these stories and will consider their own journey and how they can assist others.  

A little Uranus Business

Uranus the planet of change, revolution, chaos, creativity, provocateur, brilliance, lightening and electricity will return to Aries for his final run before he heads to Taurus and says a final goodbye to Aries  for 80 years. 

Just to go over these last eight years of Uranus.  Uranus dipped into Aries in 2010.  Right when we were wrapping up the cardinal climax.  We had a number of earthquakes.   He retrograded back into Pisces then after he turned direct in December of 2010 a man set himself on fire in Tunisia and launched the revolutions in Northern Africa that would be coined “Arab Spring”.  As we all know the forces in power did not care to be dislodged and many of them pushed back on the citizens creating a mass exodus that headed for Europe.  Seven years later we end up with Europeans taking issue with many of their new arrivals.  Nationalism spikes and we end up with Brexit.  In the United States we end up with the party of “Make America Great Again.”     This year Uranus moved into Taurus in May. It only got a couple degrees into Taurus before it retrograded during the summer and it will move back into Aries for a final five months on ----drumroll---- November 6^th.  The day of the midterms.  Uranus will move back into warrior Aries at 1:58pm on election day.   I would imagine however the day starts will not be how it finishes.   Taurus is much more quiet than Aries so something loud will be found at the end of the day.  Uranus will stay in Aries until March 9, 2019.  And then Uranus will stay in Taurus until July 25, 2025.   Expect financial institutions to get shaken not stirred during these years.   Land value may get rattled and yes, throw in a few earthquakes.  Those of us with small nuts will benefit the most during any turbulence.  If your gut is telling you your outgoing is way too vulnerable to your incoming—consider downsizing.  And while Uranus is in Aries you may have the exact amount of energy to get the job done.  

In conclusion: 

Many of us during this Libra cycle will play nice and co-operate but if anyone pushes us too far and takes too much they do it at their own peril.  This lunar cycle is not the end of journey it is the late beginning.  Pluto has another six more year in the sign of Capricorn and the energy born during many of these cardinal new moons will provide energy for our own evolutions.     Find your balance the best you can.   Push where you need to push and I will see you on Scorpio New Moon November 7^ththe day after the Midterm elections in USA.   Please register to vote and then vote.

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate, start projects.   Activate something that will ideally lead you to more.  This is the phase where INTENT is critical.  Even if the results are not immediate, the intent is there.  You may not have all the answers or road map but you should put out your Intent.

This focus:  How are you finding your self worth while you find your balance?  What have you sacrificed in order to ‘keep the peace’? How has that been working for you? Or how has it not been working?  When you dig deep and remember your value are others responding in kind?  Or do they see something less in you?   Does that work?  How does being nice help any situation?  How does it not?  

Special focus 

10/9: Mercury enters Scorpio

10/10: Mercury oppose Uranus. Disruptive and provocative conversation.  Who does it serve, really?

10/10: Venus square Mars.   Neediness versus love for community.  Community work versus self love and replenishing the resources

10/11: Sun square Pluto.  Finding balance while finding empowerment.  Power struggles and passive aggressiveness. 

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything. Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking ticket?  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

Focus on: What information are you learning that speaks to you being a bridge to a different world? What information are you learning that expands your knowledge?  What are you learning about opinions?  What are you learning about hypocrisy?  What are you learning about generosity? 

Special Focus

10/15: Mercury conjunct Venus.  Deep love. Deep appreciation for transformation. Communication about both. 

First Quarter Moon

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received. Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects. Some independence may need to be exerted. 

Focus on: What actions are you taking that support your career?  What actions are you taking that put you out in the world?  What actions are you taking that beefs up your inner CEO? What actions are you taking that speaks new systems and structures that benefit you? 

Special focus

10/19: Mercury trine Neptune:  Faith and spirituality connect with thinking.   Communication of faith moves those who have their brains on. 

10/19: Mercury square Mars.   Hot headed tempers and quick actions need to be monitored.

We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.

How are you refining your faith?  How are you refining your spirituality?  How are you refining your humanitarianism?  

Special focus: 

10/23: Sun enters Scorpio

10/23: Sun oppose Uranus.  Financial upset.  Resources feel disrupted.   Power feels impractical.

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us. There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?

Disseminating: Share information; find a teacher or someone who has more knowledge. Perhaps there was a big ol’ blow out on the full and one feels in need of support and help, this is the phase to reach out to one who knows more. This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.  And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information.  

Focus on:  How are you sharing lightness?  How are you sharing your fun?  How are you sharing your dexterity?  How are you sharing your fickleness?  Who is telling a lie?  

Special Focus

10/29:  Mercury conjunct Jupiter.  Big conversations.  Big opinions.  Big Black & White statements.  Thinking that is grand about what to let go of so something new can be born.

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense. And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”
