Libra NEW MOON 2019

Where should my focus be during this next 29-day cycle? 

When we draft a chart for the new moon we can get a sense of the energy that will be up for processing for the next 29 days.  

Okay what is this cycle about?  How are you finding balance?  Where is your authentic self?  Do you know your identity?    Is it showing up for your relationship(s)?   Let’s give it a try, shall we?

Libra New Moon

Welcome to Libra New Moon and the mid point of the lunar year, which started on April 5.    For those of you who made a Treasure Map at that time, take out the map and reflect on what has been realized, what has sprouted shoots and what still needs more time to show up.   One should not despair if it seems like there has been little movement.   Instead reflect and recommit to your treasure Map.   Libra is the sign of partnership, so look at your map and partner up with it. That person who is you from six months ago with all your visions and goals was not wrong, they just need a little more time and a reconnect with you.  Similar to couples who renew their vows—on Libra New Moon reconnect to your map. 

In general during the Libra New Moon cycle we focus on our partnerships, finding balance, finding common ground and negotiation.  And a word about ‘partners’   While spouses are a good place to look for our partner issues most people know that they have partners in various areas of life.   Who is your partner at work?  

How about social circles?   What about at your favorite charity?   Who do you rely on whenever you need to do ‘that’ task?      How do they support you?  How do they not?   

Some good questions we pursue in this 29 -day cycle are:  

How do you find balance? Are you doing too much?  Who is picking up the slack?   How does this need a reboot? 

What needs to be negotiated?  What needs to be renegotiated?   Where are you giving away the store?   

Where is there common ground between you and another?   Can it be built upon?  Or are you paying a price for peace at any cost?

In terms of the New Moon chart there is not an abundance of troubling aspects.  Yay.  We could feel a bit lighter than we have in previous months.  Maybe some joy will be found.  Maybe LOVE, (that’s a good Libra word) will be a bit easier to access.   We certainly will be attracted to those who are nice and things that are beautiful.  All very Libra.    However there are a couple aspects that may bring some bumps.  Sun & Moon oppose Chiron and an inconjunct with Uranus will create a little clear air turbulence.  Buckle up!  

CHIRON
The Sun/Moon oppose Chiron in Aries is an interesting aspect. In February, Chiron, an asteroid, moved from Pisces to Aries where it will be traveling until 2027.   During these eight years we will periodically have New Moons in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn) that will aspect Chiron in fiery Aries.   Thus is the case with this chart as this is our first contact with Libra New Moon and Chiron.  This will double down the focus on our partnerships. 

Chiron always asks us to heal.   No matter what the sign, Chiron will point out our flaws and perhaps beat us with a stick over our flaws until we mend our ways.   With Chiron in Aries we are feeling fired up, we are healing our psyche, in particular on matters were we stayed in the background and didn’t stand up for our identity.   Many of us let others tell the world who we were, our parents, our friends, our teachers, our employers, our spouses----who everyone told the world what we were, was who we were.   But now with Chiron in Aries we say--- “Hold the phone.   I will tell the world who I am, not you.”  And then there are those people who have always had a strong sense of self but now during this time they are realizing there is an important place to put that self.   Perhaps the current environment no longer fits.  What does it look like to move our self into a new area?   Everyone is learning and healing during Chiron in Aries. 

It has only been seven months since Chiron moved into Aries but some of you have probably been already feeling it.  With Aries, that initial feeling is probably pissed off.  Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and it speaks to spring and waking up seeds.   It takes a lot of energy to get those seeds to sprout and push through the frozen dirt.  Chiron in Aries will activate a flash of anger that cracks our seeds and like the plant pushing through the hard dirt we stretch.  Our identity or a new authentic self is on the other side of our stretch.  

This is all interesting because with the aspect with this New Moon Chart means we are doing it in the Libra lunar cycle with the emphasis on our relationships.   For twenty nine days our relationships  (all relationships) -- will be pushing on our psyche  ---“Who am I?”  “Who is that person?”   “Are we in sync?”   “Do we get each other?”  How is my identity something different?  Does it fit this relationship?   

The last time Chiron was in Aries was 1968-1977, if you are old enough to remember that period consider what was going on with your identify then and how it might be different now.   How are you stronger now?  How is there still work for you to do to fire up your identity?   Is your partner ready for it?   Some may cut fish and bait.   Aries can be ‘over’ something or someone quickly.  It is also interesting to look at those dates of 1968-77 and consider what was going on in the world.  It certainly was an Aries tumultuous period. Obviously there are some parallels in today’s news. 

URANUS INCONJUNCT 

In the new moon chart there is a Sun/Moon inconjunct Uranus.  This is a bit of freewheeling energy.   Uranus is brilliant, clever and rebellious iconoclastic.   It can put two and two together in a most unusual way. It also has a certain amount of chaotic energy to it.   Although it is tempered in earth Taurus, it still likes to shake things up.  Money, real estate and things we own could get wonky.  If you find something unusual coming your way and it gets you anxious, try to ground yourself, perhaps get out and move your body or get a little feed back from others who are solid, responsible and whom you trust. However, just sitting on the anxious energy and pretending it is not there and hoping to ignore it is not advisable.  Sitting on Uranus just makes us crazy plus we lose an opportunity for the gift that Uranus can provide.    No matter how weird a gift it is, it is a gift.  

Pluto Direct

And then there is Pluto…… oh, yes, Pluto.   

As we know Pluto is retrograde for six months every year.  On October 2, Pluto will station direct since turning retrograde on April 24.   Normally, we would assess what transformations have taken place in the last 6 months, consider what still needs a serious makeover and how it might make sense between now and the next retrograde. But this station direct is a wee bit different.    Last month we discussed that once Saturn turned direct (September 18^th) we should expect everything to speed up and for things to move fast as Saturn heads for its conjunction with Pluto on January 12.   Now it is Pluto’s time to turn around and head for the rendezvous with Saturn.     This is the first time these two have been together since 1982 and the first time they have been together in Capricorn since 1518.     

The build up to this aspect will not be subtle.  A few months before the 1518 aspect, Martin Luther nailed his theses on a church door and started the reformation.  Are you a protestant?  Well it started on that aspect.   Now here we are and the question is, who is getting reformed now?    Also about six months after the 1518 aspect King Charles of Spain authorized slave trade from Africa.  That is the darker side of Pluto & Saturn in the commerce sign of Capricorn. Let’s pray to whatever we consider holy that we do not repeat that mistake.  

Last month we discussed all the aspects going on between Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in 2020.   Now Jupiter and Saturn are both direct and once Pluto turns direct on October 2 we should all prepare to move fast and hit that clear air turbulence we discussed earlier.   Will an oxygen mask fall into your lap?  If your eyes and heart are open, you’ll see it.

(July 1,  –onward three planets stay close to a triple conjunction)

All of these aspects and dates may seem overwhelming and believe me they are hard to just type but they tell the story that is in our future for the next 15 months.  It is a bumpy period filled with many moments where we are between a rock and a hard place.   Many of us will be feeling like we are put into a mill and grinded down. Obviously some people will feel it more than others especially anyone with planets in Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn around 22 -25 degrees.   The early degree Aquarians will also be coming into focus at the end of 2020 but we’ll save that discussion for later next year.   

In conclusion: 

As you can see we are heading for bumps.  How strong is your relationship?  Can it handle where we are heading?  Are you showing up with your real identify?  How about your partners?  Are you all on the same page?   Take this Libra 29 day lunar cycle to assess.  And never ever be afraid of your authentic self.  We’ve been waiting for you for a long time.

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate, start projects.   Activate something that will ideally lead you to more.  This is the phase where INTENT is critical.  Even if the results are not immediate, the intent is there.  You may not have all the answers or road map but you should put out your Intent.

This focus:  How are you finding balance?  How are you negotiating?  How are you finding your center and your inner authentic self?  What needs housekeeping between you and your partner(s)?  

How is joy seeping in your daily life?

Crescent Moon Phase

Crescent:  We will receive information, we will research a bit more, perhaps get feedback on stuff that we planted on new.  Perhaps get some information that will help down the road on a seed we planted a while ago.  We can collect some data now.  Even if you think you are not getting information, stop, and re-look at everything. Who called you?  Even the silliest things, when they come up during Crescent are note worthy.  A parking ticket?  An argument with a spouse?  A refund check from the phone company?  All of it needs to be considered a message from the universe.  How can this information help you?

Focus on: What information are you getting that is deep?  How does this deeper knowledge inform your decisions about balance and fairness?   How is the rule of law informing your understanding of fairness?   How are sex, death and taxes informing your desire for balance?

First Quarter Moon

First quarter: We do more actions based on the information that we just received. Or we feel our instincts guide us on something.  We pursue again.  We make another call or we see someone. We mail something.  We stir the pot again.  This can be a time when we realize that the goals we planted on New need more action from us, perhaps actions that involve breaking away.   Are there people who say they have our best interest in heart but fear us growing away from them?  Maybe we need to get help from others not the usual suspects. Some independence may need to be exerted. 

Focus on: What are actions are you taking that present you to your world?   What actions are you taking in public that speaks to kindness?  Who is your “partner” in the public eye?    

Special Focus:

10/6: Mercury oppose Uranus.   Brilliant although chaotic thinking.  Break outs and break through in thoughts. 

10/7: Sun square Saturn Hard work and discipline need attention.  Sloughs need not apply.

We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.  

Focus on:  How are you refining your faith? How are you refining our spiritual connection?  How do you tune into something greater to find your balance?   How do you tune in to find out what is fair? 

Special focus

10/12: Venus oppose Uranus.  Love and relationships are at odds with dynamic energy and new approaches.  Values feel they need a tweak.  

Full Moon Phase

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us.  There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?  

Focus on:  

What is the fire in your belly telling you?  What actions do you feel you need to do in order to have more fair and balance in your life.  How are you looking for a complement to all your actions?

Disseminating: Share information; find a teacher or someone who has more knowledge. Perhaps there was a big ol’ blow out on the full and one feels in need of support and help, this is the phase to reach out to one who knows more. This is when we find a rabbi or a minister or therapist who gives us more insight.  And of course, you too may be ready to teach and share your own information.  

Focus on:  How are you sharing your understanding of the importance of neighborhoods?  How are you sharing your siblings?  How are you sharing the power of balanced communication?

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense. And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”
